PJS Brickwork Ltd was founded over 25 years ago by Paul Stephenson and Michael Neale, who began their journey as a skilled bricklaying squad before evolving into a successful subcontractor business. From those early days, they expanded to employ multiple squads of bricklayers across the North East and beyond.
In 1998, PJS Brickwork became a limited company, consolidating its operations within the commercial construction sector. Over time, the company diversified into both the private and public housing sectors, broadening its expertise and client base.
In 2020, long-serving Quantity Surveyor Aaron Devlin was promoted to Managing Director and Connor Stephenson joined the Board of Directors, helping to drive the company forward into a new era of innovation and success.
In October 2023, PJS Brickwork Ltd proudly celebrated 25 years of trading. A major milestone reflecting the company’s growth, craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

We have grown continuously from 1998 to the present day, and are now established as one of the leading brickwork contractors in the North East of England; employing up to one hundred members of Staff and Sub-contractors.
In addition to our masonry services, PJS is also capable of sub-contracting the scaffolding package. This enables us to deliver a fully self-sufficient masonry sub-contract package, ensuring seamless coordination and efficiency across all aspects of the project.
Although we are based in the North East, where the majority of our projects are delivered, we also have the capacity to undertake work further afield. Our portfolio includes projects in locations such as Leeds, Manchester, Otley, Berwick-upon-Tweed, and even as far north as Aberdeen.
We are established on a large number of main contractor’s supply chains including the likes of GMI Construction, Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd, Tilbury Douglas, Avant, Gleeson, Robertson Homes & Commercial and Adlington Homes to name a few.
